--Following the running of Race 9 Stipendiary Steward Mr J MUIRHEAD laid an information against Horseman Mr R BROSNAN alleging he drove NEW YORK GAMBLER carelessly causing interference to HAROLD BROMAC(S BUTCHER) with 150 metres to run
--Mr Brosnan admitted the breach and elected to be present for the hearing
--Mr Muirhead gave evidence and referred to video tapes of the final stages of race 9.
--He described how Mr Brosnan had been driving a horse full of running 150 metres from home. The horse in front Howard Bromac was going no good and Mr Brosnan had gone out looking for racing room. Howard Bromac began to give ground and Mr Brosnan elected to come back in through a gap that was too tight and contacted Harold Bromacs front legs causing it to break.
--Mr Brosnan took a risk and had gone too early. He recommended a penalty of $250 to $500 taking into account his early admission and his driving record which had been good until today. Any disqualification would be cumulative.
--Mr Brosnan had no submissions on penalty but indicated he may have driving commitments in Australia.
--Taking into account the matters raised and the submissions made, together with the otherwise good driving record of Mr Brosnan a fine of $250 was imposed
