Following race two an information was filed pursuant to Rule 520(4)(c). The informant, Mr A Coles, alleged that Mr A Ihaka, rider of FRANCESCA in race two, failed to make the contracted weight.

--Mr Ihaka pleaded guilty to the charge.
--Mr Coles said Mr Ihaka was 1 kilo over-weight on weighing out, but had come straight to the Stewards advising them which gave plenty of time to engage a replacement rider. He said this was Mr Ihaka’s third day riding in a row.
--Mr Ihaka said he was late home from yesterday’s racing at Wanganui and could not attend a sauna.
--PENALTY SUBMISSION:
Mr Coles submitted a fine of $100 was appropriate.
PENALTY:
The Committee took into account all submissions and before imposing penalty reminded Mr Ihaka of his obligations in keeping to the carded weight. It was explained to him that the Committee would not be as lenient if he was found guilty under this rule in the near future.
Mr Ihaka was fined $100.
