--Following the running of race 3 on the programme, an Information was lodged against trainer L Hanrahan alleging a breach of Rule 849(2) in that he failed to present Da Ginstar in the assembly area with the correct saddle cloth.

----Following the running of race 3 on the programme, an Information was lodged against trainer L Hanrahan alleging a breach of Rule 849(2) in that he failed to present Da Ginstar in the assembly area with the correct saddle cloth.
----Mr Hanrahan admitted the breach and elected not to be present.
----Explaining the circumstances, Chief Stipendiary Steward, Mr Escott, said that Da Ginstar was presented in the birdcage with the incorrect saddle cloth. The horse assembled with saddle cloth 12 but his actual race card number was 11. Mr Escott said that, when spoken to by the stewards, Mr Hanrahan indicated he had picked up several saddlecloths at the same time but he had put on the wrong one, and he felt suitably embarrassed.
----Mr Escott recommended a fine of $200.00 which he indicated is consistent for this breach.

----In this case, Mr Hanrahan, the trainer of Da Ginstar, has admitted a breach of Rule 849(2) in that he presented that horse with the incorrect saddle cloth.
----Following submissions from the Stipendiary Stewards, and in the absence of any submissions from the trainer, I am satisfied the recommended penalty is appropriate, and in keeping with recent similar breaches, and a fine of $200.00 will apply.
