--Following the running of race one on the programme, an Information was lodged against trainer, Mr R Rennie, alleging a breach of Rule 865(1)(4) in that he failed to present Go The Boyz with the rearing strap
Following the running of race one on the programme, an Information was lodged against trainer, Mr R Rennie, alleging a breach of Rule 865(1)(4) in that he failed to present Go The Boyz with the rearing strap, with which the gelding raced on the first day. Mr Rennie admitted the breach and elected not to be present.
----Explaining the circumstances, stipendiary steward Mrs Williams said that it was observed in the birdcage that Go The Boyz did not have a rearing strap on. Steward Mr McIntyre spoke with the driver, whilst she spoke with trainer, Mr Rennie, and it was arranged for the rearing strap to be taken to the start and affixed before it raced. This duly occurred.
----Mrs Williams said that Mr Rennie was aware of the requirements, and that it was a breach of the Rules, and that a monetary penalty would be sought. She recommended a fine of $100.00.
----In this case, Mr Rennie has admitted a breach of Rule 865(1)(4) and, in the absence of submissions from him, I am satisfied the recommended penalty is appropriate and in keeping with other similar breaches. Mr Rennie is fined $100.00.
