Following the running of Race 9, the Pelorus Trust Mobile Pace, an Information was filed by Stipendiary Steward Mr N. G. McIntyre against licensed trainer Mr C. T. Dalgety alleging a breach of Rule 864(2)(d). It was alleged that the boring pole had not been affixed to BAND ON THE RUN (7) so as not to come adrift.

--On behalf of the trainer Mr D. J. Dunn had indicated on the Information that this breach of the Rules was admitted, and that he did not wish to be present at the hearing. Mr McIntyre gave evidence and used video coverage to illustrate this incident. A fine of $100-00 was recommended.
--We were satisfied that as the breach was admitted, and as there were no previous convictions, that a fine of $100-00 was appropriate. Accordingly Mr Dalgety was fined the sum of $100-00.
