--The informant was Mr. J.M.Muirhead and this protest was against horse number 7 Summer Man placed 3rd by the judge

Following the running of race 2 an information was filed instigating a protest.
--The informant was Mr. J.M.Muirhead and this protest was against horse number 7 Summer Man placed 3rd by the judge on the grounds of breaking from its gait and galloping for at least 170 meters after the start this being in breach of rule 870. . The judges placings for this race were 1st No 2, 2nd No 5, 3rd No 7, 4th No 4, 5th No 6, 6th No 1. Mr. Gibbons the trainer /driver of Summer Man signed the information that he did not wish to contest this protest.
--Mr. Muirhead showed the video of this incident and it was clear the Summer Man was in its incorrect gait for at least 170 meters this being in breach of rule 870 .
--Mr. Muirhead sought disqualification of Summer Man from 3rd place.
--Decision and Reasons
--As this protest was not contested by Mr. Gibbons and as Summer Man was clearly in breach of the rule 870 this protest is upheld and Summer Man is ordered to be disqualified from 3rd place in race number 4.
--The amended placings shall now read 1st No 2, 2nd No 5, 3rd No 4, 4th No 6, 5th No 1, 6th No 3.
