Following the running of Race 1 (MATT AND MARION HICKEY HANDICAP TROT) Information No. A10275 was filed with the Judicial Committee. It was alleged that LEESA CASTLETON (5th) galloped further than 50m inside the final 200m of the event.

Mr Mulcay showed the film replays, identified LEESA CASTLETON in the lead on entering the straight for the final time and said that it galloped for approximately 100m. LEESA CASTLETON then regained the trotting gait and finished 5th. Mr Mulcay said that they were seeking a disqualification of the horse.
Reasons for Decision:
It was clear on the film replays that early in the run home LEESA CASTLETON went off stride and galloped for more than 50m. As identified by the Stipendiary Steward it was approximately 100m before said horse regained its proper gait.
