Mr Muirhead alleged that when Palais Royal (4th) was in a break over the finishing line it was lapped on by “Thanks Charlie”, “Mitchell” and “Rarangi Jewel”.
Mr Abernethy endorsed the information stating that he did not wish to contest the protest.

The committee was satisfied that Palais Royal had galloped prior to and over the finishing line and that all three horses following had in fact lapped on. Accordingly the protest was upheld.
