Decision: -- Following the running of Race 1, the Small & Co Accountants Trot, an Information Instigating a Protest was filed by Stipendiary Steward Mr T. W. Taumanu alleging a breach of Rule 870(3) and the "Breaking Horses" Regulation by "Struth Whata Party" (6) which finished 4th in the race. Espin, the owner trainer and driver of "Struth Whata Party", did not attend the hearing, but he did not contest that his horse had broken from its gait at the start, or that it had galloped in excess of 150 metres. Stipendiary Steward Mr S. P. Renault used video coverage to show this incident. Accordingly "Struth Whata Party" was disqualified from its 4th place.
