At the conclusion of Race 3 The Trillian Trust Trot, under Rule 870 (5) a protest was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr P T Knowles, alleging that the horse placed second by the judge, HURRY CURRY driven by G J Thomas, galloped across the line with the third placed horse MISS BOO KAY driven by B Norman, and the fourth placed horse SUNNIVUR SON driven by S Renault, being lapped on.
--The official judges margins between second and third ? neck with ? of a length to the fourth placed horse.
--Stipendiary Steward Mr C J Allison used video footage of the alleged incident clearly demonstrating in his opinion a breach viz the lapped on ruling.
--Mr G J Thomas, driver of HURRY CURRY, and Mr W Keast, owner of HURRY CURRY, acknowledged that a breach of the rule had occurred.
--The protest was upheld, HURRY CURRY being relegated from second place to fourth place.
--The official judges placings now read :
