At the conclusion of race 3 The Woodslands Stud Sponsors Tony Herlihy Provincial Drivers Mobile Pace a protest was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr C J Allison alleging that with approximately 30 metres remaining, EDDIE BOY (S Dickson) broke and was lapped on by OCCIDENTAL (M Williamson).
EDDIE BOY and OCCIDENTAL dead heated for fifth placing.

Mr Larsen the trainer of EDDIE BOY did not contest the protest.
Reasons for Decision:
The Committee was satisfied a clear breach of the rule had occurred as EDDIE BOY had broken prior to the winning post and was clearly lapped on by OCCIDENTAL with both horses dead heating for fifth placing.
