An information was filed by Stipendiary Steward Mr P Knowles against Mr O Crooks under rule 864(2)(d) alleging that - hind bandage on MUTINEER came adrift during the running of the race.
--Rule 864(2)(d)) states “Every horseman, owner, trainer and assistant thereof of a horse shall with regard to that horse ensure that - all gear is correctly applied and/or affixed so as not to malfunction or come adrift”.
--Mr Knowles read rule 864 (2)(d) and stated that during the running of race 1 the hind bandage on MUTINEER (16) came adrift. Mr Crooks (trainer) admitted the breach and stated that the bandage was new and had cost him approx $70. According to Mr Crooks the bandage had split some 1 metre before the end.
--Mr Knowles suggested that the standard fine of $100 be applied.
--The Committee briefly adjourned to consider penalty.

--The committee decided to fine Mr Crooks the sum of $100.
