At the conclusion of Race 1, The Ascot Park Hotel Mobile Trot, a protest was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr P T Knowles under Rule 870 (3), Breaking Horse (Reg), that SPRINGFIELD ALONZO driven by D Dunn, broke at the start and failed to regain its proper gait within 150 metres as specified under the Breaking Horse Regulations. SPRINGFIELD ALONZO finished fifth.
--After viewing the video evidence Mr Dunn stated that a breach of the Rule had occurred and as a result SPRINGFIELD ALONZO was relegated from fifth placing to eleventh placing.
