The rider of King (T Ihaka) admitted a breach of Rule 866(1) ( C ) in that he stopped riding his mount out over the final stages when running fourth.



The rider of King (T Ihaka) admitted a breach of Rule 866(1) ( C ) in that he stopped riding his mount out over the final stages when running fourth. His mount finished fifth.

Both films were shown and commented on by both Stipendiary Steward Mr Goodwin and Jockey Ihaka.

Mr Goodwin told the committee that it was Mr Ihaka's first charge under this rule. He felt it was of a minor nature as dividend bearing places were not affected. He also indicated that the difference in stake money was $125.00

The committee in fining Mr Ihaka the sum of $250.00 took into account Mr Goodwin's submission on penalty.
