Following the running of Race 10 on the programme, an Information was lodged against Mr J Bennett, the trainer of Boon, alleging a breach of Rule 864(2)(d), in that he attached a boring pole which came unattached during the race.

----Mr Bennett admitted the breach by so endorsing the Information, and he elected not to be present at the hearing.
----Explaining the circumstances, Chief Stipendiary Steward Mr Escott said that Mr Bennett was the trainer of Boon and, as such, attached the boring pole to his horse. Referring to the video of the race, he showed the pole coming adrift near the winning post the first time and lying on the track, where it was observed to be picked up by track staff during the race. In respect to penalty, he said Mr Bennett has not previously appeared and he recommended a fine of $100.00 which is in keeping with such breaches..
----In this case, Mr Bennett has admitted the breach Of Rule 864(2)(d) as described and, in the absence of any explanation or submissions regarding penalty, I am satisfied in the circumstances the recommendation from the Stipendiary Stewards is appropriate, and consistent with other such breaches, and a fine of $100.00 will apply.
