Decision: Mr Davidson, Stipendiary Ssteward, alleged that Ms L Vaughan was in breach of rule 508(2) and (5) in that she failed to declare riders for PEECEE'S BOY in race 3 by the required time.
Mr Davidson, Stipendiary Steward, alleged that Ms L Vaughan was in breach of rule 508(2) and (5) in that she failed to declare riders for PEECEE'S BOY in race 3 by the required time. She admitted the breach and indicated she did not wish to be present at the hearing.

Mr Davidson explained that, as is the usual practice the racing bureau had rung the trainer after declarations had closed and a rider had not been nominated for PEECEE'S BOY. In fact, Ms Vaughan had 2 horses nominated and she had declared a rider for one, but had overlooked the other. A rider was finally nominated, 1 hour and 17 minutes late.

Ms Vaughan has no previous breach of this or any other Rule. We are aware the “standard fine” is $50 and this is the amount that Mr Davidson has recommended. We impose a fine of $50.
