Mr M Brown admitted a breach of rule 849(2) in that he presented EMPRESSA JACCKA in the birdcage at the Invercargill Harness Racing Club's meeting at Ascot Park on 28 April with the incorrect number on its saddlecloth. He indicated that he did not wish to be present at the hearing.
----Mr Allison stipendiary steward explained that EMPRESSA JACCKA had not proceeded onto the track before the omission was noted and requested a fine of $100. That sum was observed by the Committee to be consistent with other penalties imposed in this area for a breach of this rule. The charge is found proved and Mr Brown is fined the sum of $100.
