Mr Allison alleged that the 4th placed horse SO KING broke in excess of 50 metres in the home straight.
The Judge’s placings were:

Submissions for Decision:
Mr Allison, stipendiary steward, demonstrated on the video that near the 200 metre mark SO KING broke and continued in a gallop for some 50 to 60 metres. The horse briefly returned to its gait and then galloped for a further 60 metres.
Mr Norman, the driver of SO KING, represented the connections and indicated he did not contest the protest.
Reasons for Decision:
In exercising our discretion under r 1003(2) to disqualify SO KING we are satisfied that the horse broke for over 100 metres in the final 200 metres. In accordance with para (b) of the breaking horses regulations SO KING is deemed to be in breach of r 870(3) in that it has failed to promptly regain its proper gait.
