The stipendiary steward Mr Allison laid an information after the conclusion of Race 1 alleging a breach of Rule 870(3) in that BIG MAC D placed 4th by the Judge galloped with some 70 metres to run and continued in a gallop across the line. Judge's placings were 12; 13; 17; 16; 14; 9. Mr Allison asked for disqualification of BIG MAC D.
----Mr Allison demonstrated on the video and with reference to the track markers that some 70 metres short of the line BIG MAC D broke and galloped across the line. Mr Todd accepted that if the markers were the distance apart that Mr Allison said, then the distance galloped was as Mr Allison stated.
----I am satisfied that BIG MAC D galloped for 70 metres in the last 200 metres of race 1. In accordance with Rule 870(3) and para (b) of the Breaking Horse regulations I find that BIG MAC D has failed to promptly regain its gait and the horse is disqualified from 4th placing.
----Amended placings are 12; 13; 17; 14; 9; 8.
