Following the running of race 1 an information was filed by Stipendiary Steward Mrs K Williams (Informant) that alleged that licensed trainer Mr C D McKay had failed to adequately affix the near hind bandage on MURPHYS MATE.
Rule 864 (2) (d) provides as follows :-
--“Every horseman, owner, trainer and assistant trainer thereof shall with regard to that horse ensure that all gear is correctly applied/and or affixed so as not to malfunction”.
Following the running of race 1 an information was filed by Stipendiary Steward Mrs K Williams (Informant) that alleged that licensed trainer Mr C D McKay had failed to adequately affix the near hind bandage on MURPHYS MATE.

Rule 864 (2) (d) provides as follows :-
“Every horseman, owner, trainer and assistant trainer thereof shall with regard to that horse ensure that all gear is correctly applied/and or affixed so as not to malfunction”.

Mrs Williams demonstrated by video clip that the bandage had worked loose during the running of the race and had flapped conspicuously for a considerable duration. Mrs Williams recommended a fine of $100.
DECSION AND REASONS
After a brief deliberation and noting the potential safety issues the committee concurred . Mr McKay is fined the sum of $100.
