Mr Allison, stipendiary steward, alleged that CITRIC SUZIE galloped in excess of 50 metres over the final 200 metres.

Submissions for Decision:
Mr Allison demonstrated on the video that CITRIC SUZIE galloped before the 50 metre marker and then continued in a gallop in excess of 60 metres. He pointed out that CITRIC SUZIE was still galloping at the winning post.
Mr B Orange, assisting Mr S Stewart, the stable representative of CITRIC SUZIE, did not contest the protest.
Reasons for Decision:
We assess CITRIC SUZIE to have galloped 60 to 65 metres to the winning post and the horse was still galloping when she crossed the line. This is clearly in excess of the 50 metres and pursuant to para (b) of the Breaking Horses regulations CITRIC SUZIE is deemed to be in breach of Rule 870(3) in that she has failed to promptly regain her proper gait.
