DECISION & REASON
--Following Race 8 an information alleging a breach of Rule 871 (1) (d) was laid against Jockey Ms S C Spratt. The charge reads "in that she permitted her mount STRIPPED to shift outwards near the 600 metres mark when not sufficiently clear of SAND HAWK, ridden by N Harris, which was checked.
--Ms Spratt admitted the breach of Rule 871 (1) (d). (The videos were viewed and the facts were accepted.) Assistant Stipendiary Steward Mr Williamson demonstrated the incident on race videos. He said Ms Spratt angled her mount out from the fence (at the 600 metres mark) when not sufficiently clear of SAND HAWK, ridden by Mr N Harris causing a resultant check.
--PENALTY
--Stipendiary Steward Mr Oatham's submission on penalty was that a suspension is required; he outlined Ms Spratt's good riding record, being a busy jockey. Ms Spratt made submissions and confirmed her future riding engagements.
--Taking into account all submissions on penalty, namely :
