The protest was against Horse 9 LOMANIJA (D BUTCHER) placed 5th by the Judge on the grounds that it broke from its gait with approximately 180 metres to run and galloped through to the finish line.
--The Information was endorsed "I do not wish to contest the Protest" and was signed by Driver Mr D BUTCHER on behalf of trainer Mr G SMALL.
--Mr Taumanu referred to video footage of the run home which clearly supported the allegation and requested LOMANIJA be disqualified.
--Accordingly LOMANIJA is disqualified and the Judges placings are amended as follows
--1st 1 MUSASHI
--2nd 8 ALTA LATINO
--3rd 5 PRINCE OF HEAVEN
--4th 4 SAUCY ATTITUDE
--5th 6 BELAIRES DREAM
