Facts:
An information instigating a protest was lodged at the request of Miss N Chilcott at the conclusion of Race 6.
The protest was on behalf of the connections of horse 5 J D’s Chrimar on the grounds of interference which occurred with approximately 800 metres to run, allegedly caused by horse 8 Rosewood Mac.
Mr Butcher confirmed he was challenging the protest.
Miss Chilcott told the hearing that on the turn with approximately 800 metres to run she was travelling in the trail when the horse outside her hit her leg, that horse being Rosewood Mac.
Video footage referred to for the hearing did not disclose any evidence to support this contention.
Junior Driver Mr Z Butcher representing the connections of Rosewood Mac told the hearing that the video footage was inconclusive. He told the hearing that he had not hit Miss Chilcott and that he had maintained his line outside of her. If anything she may have moved outwards on the turn.
Submissions for Decision:
The Stipendiary Stewards told the hearing there was nothing to support Miss Chilcott’s version of the event.
