--Mr Grayling appeared before the hearing and admitted the charge.
--Mr Muirhead referred to video footage of the start of the race which clearly indicated CAMERON JAKE on the 10 metre mark close to the barrier five position. Had this horse as the favourite finished well any such placing would be in jeopardy from the horse starting from the incorrect position.
--Mr Grayling freely admitted the charge and said he was completely unaware that he was required to be at the extreme outside of the field.
--Mr Taumanu indicated the starting range for this offending was a $400 fine. He was driving the favourite and eliminated another runner from the race. He was a very experienced driver.
--Decision and Reasons
--Taking into account the submissions of both parties, Mr Grayling's excellent driving record and his early guilty plea a fine of $400 is ordered.
