Following race 9 an information was filed by Stipendiary Steward Mr J Oatham pursuant to Rule 858(4) when he alleged that Mr G Stubbings, trainer of FARRAH, breached that Rule in that he omitted a towel when saddling FARRAH.

DECISION & REASON:
--Following race 9 an information was filed by Stipendiary Steward Mr J Oatham pursuant to Rule 858(4) when he alleged that Mr G Stubbings, trainer of FARRAH, breached that Rule in that he omitted a towel when saddling FARRAH.
----Mr Stubbings admitted the breach.
----Mr Oatham said that his attention was drawn to the fact that Mr C Lammas, rider of FARRAH, had weighed in marginally less than 0.5 kg lower than the weight he had weighed out. On examination he found that one of his towels had been omitted when the horse was saddled up. Further investigations found the towel still in the saddling stalls.
----Mr Stubbings had immediately accepted responsibility for the error.
----Mr Oatham said that it was fortunate that the loss of weight was marginally inside the allowable 0.5 kg discrepancy so no disqualification was involved, however he asked for a fine in the $200 - $300 range.
----After taking all matters into consideration the Committee impose a fine of $250.
