Following the running of Race 5 an information lodging a protest was laid by Stipendiary Steward Mr J MUIRHEAD against horse 4 TALENT?S INVASION (F KIRK), placed 3rd by the Judge in that it galloped in excess of 50 metres in the run home.
| ------ Following the running of Race 5 an information lodging a protest was laid by Stipendiary Steward Mr J MUIRHEAD against horse 4 TALENT?S INVASION (F KIRK), placed 3rd by the Judge in that it galloped in excess of 50 metres in the run home. ----Mr Kirk appeared for the connections of TALENTS INVASION and confirmed the owners were present on course and had elected not to be present for the protest hearing. ----Mr Muirhead gave evidence and referring to Video tapes showed TALENTS INVASION --had galloped in excess of 50 metres and more likely approaching 60 metres ----They did not wish to contest the protest and were satisfied that the break had been in excess of 56 metres by reference to marker posts and conceded that TALENTS INVASION had also been lapped on, crossing the finish line. ----Decision ----The Protest was upheld and Mr Muirhead made submissions seeking the disqualification of TALENT?S INVASION. This was not contested by Mr Kirk. ----Accordingly TALENTS INVASION is disqualified and the amended placings are ----1st 8 Megadon --2nd 1 Miss Golden Gait --3rd 7 Landoras Image --4th 6 Sun Isa --5th 5 Castleton Gold --6th 3 No More Gold ------
