An information was filed, the informant was Mr T W Taumanu and the defendant Mr D Gibbons ,Trainer. The information alleged that Trainer Mr. D Gibbons failed to ensure that Brighton was presented with the correct numbered saddlecloth prior to the horse being presented in the assembly area
| -- An information was filed, the informant was Mr T W Taumanu and the defendant Mr D Gibbons ,Trainer.. --The information alleged that Trainer Mr. D Gibbons failed to ensure that Brighton was presented with the correct numbered saddlecloth prior to the horse being presented in the assembly area and on to the track for race Number 4. --Mr. Gibbons admitted this charge and was present at the hearing. --Mr. Taumanu outlined the circumstances leading to this charge being laid and stated Mr. Gibbons had been very co-operative and embarrassed by this incident. --Mr. Gibbons stated he was clearly to blame as one of his owners had affixed the number to his two runners in this race and he had not checked them , Mr. Gibbons accepted the blame for not checking the numbers were on the right horses. --Submissions were heard on penalty from both Mr. Taumanu and Mr. Gibbons. --The record of Mr. Gibbons was presented for perusal. --Decision And Reasons. --This judicial Committee having taken into account the submissions made as to penalty by Mr. Taumanu and Mr. Gibbons and also the admission of the breach of this rule by Mr. Gibbons a fine of $175.00 was imposed on this occasion. --Chairman |
