| -- RACE NO: 1 - RULE NO: 869(3)(b) ----An Information was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr T Taumanu alleging that Driver Mr M NEILL had driven DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH carelessly when he attempted to improve his horse where there was insufficient room to do so, resulting in his own horse breaking with approximately 40 metres to run. ----Mr NEILL endorsed and signed the information admitting the breach and electing not to be present for the hearing. ----Evidence was given by Stipendiary Steward Mr N McINTYRE supported by Video tapes which clearly showed Mr NEILL driving DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH in the home straight attempt to negotiate a gap between PROPOSAL (N CHALMERS) and MAINLAND COUNTESS(J STORMONT) with about 50 metres to run. ----As he tried to improve in a gap that did not exist his horse struck the inside wheel of PROPOSAL causing DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH to break. ----Mr NEILL had freely admitted being at fault and the Stipendiary Stewards recommended a penalty of $200 fine. ----Penalty ----Mr NEILL was fined $200 ------
