An information was filed instigating a protest by Mr. B J Van Kan Stipendiary Steward, .the information alleged a breach of rule 870 (5) the lapped on rule. The judges placings for race ten were 1st no 7, 2nd No 8, 3rd no 6, 4th no 3, 5th No 1. This was a protest lodged By Stipendiary Control on behalf of horse No 1 placed 5th by the judge against horse no 3 placed 4th by the judge on the grounds that Saninvasion broke with approximately 30 meters to run being lapped on by Pride Of the Land. This protest was not contested by the connections and the Stipendiary Stewards sought relegation to 5th place. The video of this incident was shown and this clearly showed Saninvasion to be in its incorrect gait as it crossed the finish line of this race.
--Decision and Reasons.
--As this protest was not contested by the connections of Saninvasion and being satisfied after having viewed the video of the finish of this race it is clear the Saninvasion was lapped on as alleged.
--This committee orders that Saninvasion be relegated to 5th place and the amended placings for race no 10 shall now read 1st No 7, 2nd No 8, 3rd No 6, 4th No 1, 5th No 3.
