Information No. 67510 was filed by Stipendiary Steward, Mr S P Renault, against Licensed Public Trainer, Mr J F Curtin, alleging a breach of Rule 865 (4) in that, as the trainer of DREAM SUPREME, a runner in Race 6, Advanced Joinery & Prime Panels Handicap Pace,  he “failed to notify that this horse would race with removable earplugs only”.
 



Information No. 67510 was filed by Stipendiary Steward, Mr S P Renault, against Licensed Public Trainer, Mr J F Curtin, alleging a breach of Rule 865 (4) in that, as the trainer of DREAM SUPREME, a runner in Race 6, Advanced Joinery & Prime Panels Handicap Pace,  he “failed to notify that this horse would race with removable earplugs only”.
 
Mr Curtin had signed the Statement by the Defendant on the information form indicating that the breach was admitted and that he did not wish to be present at the hearing of the information. The breach was found proved accordingly.

Rule 865 provides as follows:
(4) The trainer and/or person in control of a horse shall present such horse in the assembly area with the same or identical gear, or with such different gear as has been notified as required by the foregoing provisions of this Rule.

Mr Renault informed the Committee that DREAM SUPREME, trained by Mr Curtin, had been paraded on the track prior to Race 6 with removable earplugs but without the pull down blinds. This change of gear for the horse had not been notified as required by the Approved Gear Regulation.

Mr Renault recommended a fine of $100.

--

Mr Curtin was fined the sum of $100.
