Information No. 67512 was filed by Stipendiary Steward, Mr S P Renault, against Holder of Licence to Train, Mr W G Hill, alleging a breach of Rule 865 (4) in that, as the trainer of SINGLE DREAMER, a runner in Race 10, Suzie Morrison Memorial & Gordon Trotter Pace, he “failed to notify this horse would race with removable earplugs”.
Mr M R De Filippi, as agent for Mr Hill, had signed the Statement by the Defendant on the information form indicating that the breach was admitted and that he did not wish to be present at the hearing of the information. The breach was found proved accordingly.
Rule 865 provides as follows:
(4) The trainer and/or person in control of a horse shall present such horse in the assembly area with the same or identical gear, or with such different gear as has been notified as required by the foregoing provisions of this Rule.
Mr Renault informed the Committee that SINGLE DREAMER, trained by Mr Hill, had been paraded on the track prior to Race 10 with removable earplugs. This change of gear for the horse had not been notified as required by the Approved Gear Regulation.
--Mr Renault recommended a fine of $100.
--Mr Hill was fined the sum of $100.
