Decision:

Following the running of Race 9, the Halswell Tavern Sports Bar Trot, an information was laid by Stipendiary Steward Mr N. G. McIntyre alleging a breach of the “lapped on” rule, Rule 870(5), by “Cochin” (7) which finished 3^rd and which was driven by Mr C. F. Middleton.   Mr Middleton was the trainer, driver and part owner of “Cochin”.  Mr Middleton attended the hearing and he advised that he did not contest the protest.

Video coverage of the race was used to show that “Cochin” finished in 3^rd place at which time it was in a break and lapped on by the 4^th horse.  The official margin between 3^rd an 4^th was a ½ length.

Accordingly “Cochin” was relegated from 3^rd to 4^th place.  The amended places are as follows.

3^rd – Sunny Eva (11)

4^th – Cochin (7)
