| -- DECISION AND REASONS: --Following the running of Race 9, Bella's Boy/Sir Vancelot Pace, an information was filed by Stipendiary Steward, Mrs K R Williams, against Licensed Junior Horseman, Mr G D Smith, alleging that Mr Smith drove carelessly in the Race in allowing his horse, ALLACINDER, to break when striking the sulky wheel of WADDELL (A Laing) with approximately 200 metres to run. ----Mr Smith acknowledged that he did not require to be assisted by a senior horseman and admitted the breach. ----Mrs Williams told the Committee that Mr Smith had gone to look for a run on the outside and had gone back on the inside of MIRACLE STAR (R T May) and, in so doing, had not been in a position to get through and had struck the sulky wheel of WADDELL. ALLACINDER had broken and lost all chance, Mrs Williams said. She showed the incident on a video replay. ----Mrs Williams sought a fine of $200. ----Mr Smith was given the opportunity to make submissions in relation to the incident and penalty but declined to do so. ----On the basis of Mr Smith's admission of the charge, the charge was found proved and Mr Smith was fined the sum of $200. ------ ---- -- -- --
