DECISION AND REASONS:
--An information was filed by Stipendiary Steward, Mr N M Ydgren, against Licensed Open Trainer, Mr A C White, alleging that Mr White, as the trainer of SMOOTH OPERATOR, a runner in Race 5, Ravenscar Farm Mobile Pace, failed to affix the correct saddlecloth number onto that horse.
----Mr White signed the Statement by the Defendant on the information form acknowledging that he admitted the breach of the Rule and, further, that he did not wish to be present at the hearing of the information. The charge was found proved accordingly.
----Mr Ydgren informed the Committee that SMOOTH OPERATOR had been presented in the parade ring, prior to Race 5, with the wrong saddlecloth number. Mr White explained to the Stipendiary Stewards that, when he collected the saddlecloth, he had requested the wrong number and had put that wrong numbered saddlecloth on the horse.
----Mr Ydgren recommended a fine of $100. Mr White was fined the sum of $100.
