At the Banks Peninsula Trotting Club’s race meeting on 05 October 2008, following the running of Race 8, the D. G. Jones Matson’s Brewery Trotting Cup, an information was laid by Chief Stipendiary Steward Mr N. R. Escott against Ms P. J. Wakelin, the driver of “Awsome Imace” (11), alleging that she had committed a breach of Rule 869(2)(a) in that she had used her whip excessively in the run home.

In relation to penalty Mr Escott advised that Ms Wakelin had no previous convictions and recommended a fine of $200-00. I was satisfied that a fine of $200-00 was appropriate in this case and Ms Wakelin was fined this amount.
