DECISION AND REASON
--In Race 6, the ?Graham McLeod Crane & Cartage 1400, Stipendiary Steward Mr A Coles, filed an information alleging a breach of Rule 871(1)(d) by apprentice Miss C Anderson in that she angled her mount DAADS GIRL outwards sharply when not sufficiently clear of BRONWYN (T Harris) then continued on an outward movement when not clear of CITIGIRL (K Davidson).
--Miss Anderson admitted the breach, and was represented by Miss C Tremayne.
--In submissions as to penalty the committee viewed the video of the incident described by Mr J Oatham and demonstrated the checks sustained to T Harris and K Davidson. Miss Anderson claimed that the horse was hanging and moved out sharply. However, the use of the whip continued throughout.
--In assessing penalty, the good riding record and admission of the breach, as well as the horse hanging out were taken into consideration. A suspension was imposed from the conclusion of racing on 30 January 2006 until the conclusion of racing on 8 February 2006, effectively 3 days.
