Decision:

Following the running of Race 10 an information, instigating a protest, was filed by Stipendiary Steward Mr J. Muirhead alleging a breach of Rule 869(8), in that BENROMACH (G. Martin) placed 2nd by the judge, on the grounds of causing interference to PRINCESS JILL (N. Chilcott) and ROXIE HEART (R. Brosnan) racing into the first bend.

Following the running of Race 10 an information, instigating a protest, was filed by Stipendiary Steward Mr J. Muirhead alleging a breach of Rule 869(8), in that BENROMACH (G. Martin) placed 2nd by the judge, on the grounds of causing interference to PRINCESS JILL (N. Chilcott) and ROXIE HEART (R. Brosnan) racing into the first bend.

Mr Martin the owner, trainer, driver of BENROMACH was present at the hearing of the information.

Mr Muirhead demonstrated on the video films  BENROMACH racing into the first bend moving down into the rightful running line of Princess Jill causing interference ,which resulted in Roxie Heart been checked badly , breaking and losing all chance.

Mr Martin, having heard the evidence of Mr Muirhead and viewing the films, said he was guilty and did not contest the protest.

The Committee was clearly satisfied that BENROMACH had caused interference to both Princess Jill and Roxie Heart. Accordingly the protest was upheld and Benromach was disqualified from the race.
