Following Race 9 Stipendiary Steward J Muirhead lodged an information alleging a breach of Rule 869 (3) (b) by Junior Horseman M White
| -- DECISION & REASON ----Following Race 9 Stipendiary Steward J Muirhead lodged an information alleging a breach of Rule 869 (3) (b) by Junior Horseman M White for driving WARM SOAK carelessly striking the wheel of COSMIC ILLUSION (A Donnelly) with about 175 metres to run causing his own horse to break. The breach was admitted and Brent Mangos represented Junior Horseman White. ----The incident was demonstrated on video by Mr Muirhead showing the outward movement as alleged and the resulting break to WARM SOAK. Mr Muirhead submitted that it was a case of misjudgement but could have had more serious consequences. Mr White's driving record was good with only a warning recorded in the previous 12 months. A fine in the region of $250 was recommended. ----Mr Mangos confirmed the circumstances as outlined and agreed that a fine was appropriate although he stressed that it was just a matter of misjudgement. ----The Committee agreed with the submissions and taking into account his admission and record and that it was at the lower end of the scale ordered that a fine of $200 be imposed. ------
