Following Race 5 Stipendiary Steward J Muirhead lodged an information alleging a breach of Rule 869 (4) by Horseman B Lee
| -- DECISION & REASON ----Following Race 5 Stipendiary Steward J Muirhead lodged an information alleging a breach of Rule 869 (4) by Horseman B Lee for driving BIG AL in a jostling manner likely to cause interference to MAHEER BEACH (M Wallis) over the initial stages of the race. The breach was admitted. ----The incident was demonstrated on video by Mr Muirhead showing that while the driving resulted in MAHEER BEACH eventually breaking it was the length of time before corrective action was taken which was of concern. Otherwise the breach itself was at the lower end of the scale. He recommended that a fine of not less than $250 be imposed taking into account Mr Lee's good record and admission of the breach. ----Mr Lee confirmed he had had only 33 drives over the last twelve months but hoped to drive more frequently in future as opportunities arose. He accepted that his inexperience was a factor and that a fine as suggested by Mr Muirhead was appropriate. ----The Committee, after taking these matters into account ordered that a fine of $250 be imposed. ------ --
