An information lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr J Muirhead against Messrs B Brodie and D Odlum, trainers of PRESIDENTIAL BELLE, alleging a breach of Rule 864 (2) (d) in that the bandage on the off hind leg of the horse was not affixed so as not to malfunction.
--Mr Odlum admitted the breach and was present at the hearing.
--Stipendiary Steward Mr B Van Kan said the Stipendiary Stewards had noted that the bandage had come partially adrift during the running of the race. Mr Odlum said that he felt the weather and track conditions contributed to the incident in that the bandage was waterlogged after the race.
--The standard fine of $100.00 was recommended and imposed.
