DECISION & REASONS
--An information instigating a protest lodged by Stipendiary Steward, Mr J Muirhead, against TOMAHAWK driven by Mr B Mangos, placed 4th by the judge, on the grounds that it was not in its correct gait when its nose reached the finishing line, and it was lapped on by RITCHIE BRYDON, driven by Mr T Grayling, and COUNTRY CHAPEL, driven by Mr J Abernethy.
--Mr Mangos, on behalf of the trainers Mr B and Mr W Pemberton endorsed the information "I do not contest protest." None of the connections of TOMAHAWK were present at the hearing.
--Mr Muirhead demonstrated the incident by use of the video film. TOMAHAWK broke free of interference about two strides from the finishing line and was lapped on by RITCHIE BRYDON and COUNTRY CHAPEL.
--In accordance with the mandatory provisions of the rule, TAMAHAWK was relegated to behind COUNTRY CHAPEL. The final placings then being:
--1st - THE WANDERER
--2ND - LESDALE MERT
--3rd - WESTWIND RENEGADE
--4th ? RITCHIE BRYDON
