| -- Race No.2 Rule 870(5) --An information instigating a protest lodged by Stipendiary Steward, Mr J Muirhead, against TALENTS INVASION driven by Mr F Kirk, and placed 5th by the judge on the grounds of not being in its correct gait at the finishing line and being lapped on by SILKY OAK, driven by Mr M Nicholas. Mr Kirk endorsed the information "I don?t contest protest". Mr Muirhead demonstrated the incident by use of the video film. TALENTS INVASION broke free of interference with about 40m to run and galloped to the finishing line and was clearly lapped on at the finishing line by SILKY OAK. The evidence was clear-cut and in accordance with the above rule and the breaking horse regulation, the committee relegated TALENTS INVASION to 6th placing and promoted SILKY OAK to 5th placing. |
