Decision: Following Race 6 an Information was filed pursuant to rule 520 (4) (C). The Informant, Mr R Sanders, alleged that Mr C Ormsby, rider of BEWITCH, failed to make the handicapped weight.
Following Race 6 an Information was filed pursuant to rule 520 (4) (C). The Informant, Mr R Sanders, alleged that Mr C Ormsby, rider of BEWITCH, failed to make the handicapped weight. Mr Ormsby pleaded guilty to the charge and said he did his best in the sauna but still found he was ½ a kilo over.

Mr Sanders said this was Mr Ormsby’s 4th charge in the last 12 months and deserved a $400 - $500 fine. He reminded the Committee that it was a Group 1 race and only 25 minutes before the race when Mr Ormsby informed the stewards he was unable to make the weight.
