Accordingly we impose a suspension on Miss S Collett from riding in races which is to start after racing on 2 January and conclude after racing on 12 January 2011 (6 days).

Mr Oatham demonstrated the video films and pointed out to the committee Miss Collett riding SPARE A FORTUNE allow her mount to shift inwards near the 1800 metres when insufficiently clear of HOLD IT HARVEY (J Riddell). This inward movement forced HOLD IT HARVEY inwards and into the line of MR TIPSY (M Coleman) which was checked.

Mr George said Miss Collett had an excellent record with only one suspension in the last 12 months. However he reminded the committee this was a group 1 race and MR TIPSY did receive severe interference caused by the inward movement from Miss Collett when she was insufficiently clear. He submitted a 6 - 8 day suspension would be appropriate. He confirmed to the committee that Miss Collett's record showed that she was a national rider.
Miss Collett said she had commitments up to and including 2 January 2011.

However these must be balanced with the following aggravating factors. This was a group 1 race and MR TIPSY had received a severe check through the carelessness of Miss Collett. Taking all the above factors into account the committee believes a 6 day suspension is appropriate.
