--Following Race 2 an information was filed pursuant to Rule 330(3)(c). The Informant, Stipendiary Steward Mr J.Oatham, alleged that rider Mr C. Ormsby failed to make the handicapped weight on SPECIAL BLEND.

--Following Race 2 an information was filed pursuant to Rule 330(3)(c). The Informant, Stipendiary Steward Mr J.Oatham, alleged that rider Mr C. Ormsby failed to make the handicapped weight on SPECIAL BLEND.
--Mr Ormsby admitted the breach of this rule and was present at the hearing.
--The rule was read and Mr Ormsby acknowledged he understood the rule.
--Mr Oatham said Mr Ormsby, the declared rider for SPECIAL BLEND was unable to make the handicapped weight, being at least 1 kg over.
--Mr Ormsby said he had no real excuses except for running out of time to have a sauna.
--PENALTY SUBMISSIONS
--Mr Oatham said Mr Ormsby had 2 previous charges under the rule in the last year. He said Mr Ormsby naturally struggles with his weight which is of some concern, however he conceded it was 9 months since his last breach of this rule. He submitted a fine of $150 -$200.
--Mr Ormsby accepted Mr Oatham’s submissions and had nothing to add.
--PENALTY
--The Committee took into account Mr Ormsby’s guilty plea and fair record. We reminded Mr Ormsby of his obligations under this rule and the consequences associated with it when he does not comply. Accordingly we impose a fine of $200 on this occasion.
