Meet Title:
Ashburton TC - 27 October 2008
Race Date:
2008/10/27
Race Number:
Race 6
Decision:
Following the running of race number 6 an information was lodged by the Stipendiary Stewards alleging a breach of rule 864 (2) (b) in that Mr Reid, the trainer of Bailey’s Dream, presented the horse with shoes not suitable for racing and therefore required farrier attention at the start of the race, subsequently delaying the start.
Decision and Penalty:
--Following the running of race number 6 an information was lodged by the Stipendiary Stewards alleging a breach of rule 864 (2) (b) in that Mr Reid, the trainer of Bailey’s Dream, presented the horse with shoes not suitable for racing and therefore required farrier attention at the start of the race, subsequently delaying the start.
----
At the outset of the hearing the Committee noted that the charge was admitted by Mr Reid and that he did not wish to be present at the hearing.
----
The charge is accordingly found proven. The Stipendiary Stewards recommended the fine only. The Committee agrees that a fine only is a sufficient penalty and after taking into account the early guilty plea, Mr Reid’s good record, the status of the race and the delay in the start of the race and, imposes a fine of $200.00.
