DECISION & REASON
--Following the running of race number 6 an information was lodged by the Stipendiary Stewards pursuant to rule 869 (4) alleging that J T Keast (I?m A Dazzler) with approximately 100 metres to run shifted down to the pylons looking for a run resulting in Drell being tightened up, taken hold of and breaking.
----At the outset of the hearing it was noted that the Defendant admitted the breach and did not wish to be present. The evidence given at the enquiry is relied on and the charge is formally found proven.
----In respect of penalty Mr Escott indicated that over the last 12 months Mr Keast had no charges under the relevant rule and that he should be given some credit for his early guilty plea and recommended a fine only. The Committee accepts the recommendations of the Stipendiary Stewards and imposes a fine of $250.00.
