--Following the running of Race 6, CRT Discretionary Handicap Trot, an information was filed by Chief Stipendiary Steward, Mr N R Escott, against Licensed Trainer, Mr M E Howard, alleging that Mr Howard, as the trainer of NOW STOPUS in the race, presented that horse in the birdcage with a pricker on the rearing strap.

Mr Howard had signed the Statement of Defendant endorsed on the information form indicating that he admitted the breach of the Rule and that he did not wish to be present at the hearing of the information.

Mr McIntyre informed the Committee that a pricker fitted to the rearing strap is not gear or an appliance or device approved by the Executive.
----
The charge was found to be proved.

Mr McIntyre recommended a fine of $200.00 and Mr Howard was fined the sum of $200.00.
