DECISION AND REASONS:

--

Following the running of Race 6, CRT Discretionary Handicap Trot, an information instigating a protest was filed by Stipendiary Steward, Mr N M Ydgren, against SILVERDALE PRIDE (J D Burgess), placed 5th by the judge, on the ground of breaking from its gait and being lapped on by the 6th and 7th placed horses.

--

--

Mr J D Burgess, the owner, trainer and driver of SILVERDALE PRIDE, had endorsed the information form to the effect that he did not contest the relegation of the horse.

--

--

Mr Ydgren showed a video replay of the final stages of the Race. He pointed out SILVERDALE PRIDE break short of the finishing line and continue in a gallop until its nose reached the finishing line, finishing in 5th place, and being lapped on by ARDWELL STAR (T M McMillan), placed 6th by the judge, and KATIE MAY (K M Barron), placed 7th by the judge.

--

--

On that basis, and on the basis that Mr Burgess did not contest the relegation, the Committee was satisfied that the protest should be upheld. As a consequence, SILVERDALE PRIDE was relegated to 7th placing in the Race and the amended result is as follows:
